SUMMER TRIMESTER CLASSES BEGIN

THE BOOK OF JUDGES Teacher: Dave Parish
The book of Judges may seem to some as not relevant to the world today since we have not known in our lifetimes of a nation without a central government like the nation of Israel at the time of the Judges. Yet, this book has a lot to say about our times when it says about the people of God that “everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Does that not sound like our present culture? Plus, though they had no strong central government, the people wanted to be like all the other people and to have a strong central government. God allowed His people to undergo severe trials as a result of their disobedience to Him and His word. But, when they repented of their sins, He was faithful to deliver them. As His people today, we can learn a lot from their example, both of what to do, and what not to do (I Cor. 10:11).
THE BOOK OF GENESIS - Part 2 Teacher: Mark Maier
This class will continue through the last half of the first book of God's revelation to man. The title of the book “Genesis” means “beginnings” and we have already looked at the revelation of God where He created the heavens, the earth, man and woman. But, rebellion has broken out, and now God reveals to us how He begins the task of restoring relationship between sinful mankind and Himself. The events that unfold in this extraordinary book give form and understanding to the entire Bible, right to the end of Revelation and God's plan for “new beginnings.”
SURVIVING FINANCIAL MELTDOWN & MASTER YOUR MONEY Teacher: Scott Bass
This class is based on a summary of the books (same titles) by Ron Blue and Jeremy White. This study is valuable for Christians in any walk of life because it is designed to combine the Biblical principles on money and stewardship with time tested Biblical advice on getting and keeping your finances in order, to the glory of God, for your blessing, and the blessing of others through you. It will do this by teaching you how to apply God’s principles which will help you avoid common financial mistakes. The practical applications and worksheets will help you implement a financial plan that works to get you out of debt, to save, invest and give wisely. The class will utilize a multimedia presentation style and books will be available but not required for the class. “Inflation, deflation, monetary collapse, and political upheavals are nothing new to God; and His message is just as relevant today as it has always been.” Ron Blue
GOD AND GOVERNMENT Teacher: Ted Trainor
Martin Luther said “If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ.” The question of Who should have jurisdiction over every aspect of life is being vigorously attacked today. Our money says “In God we trust.” But, do we really? Would this be on our money if we were just forming our nation today? If you think not, then perhaps something is missing from our collective understanding of true history, the Bible and its principles of government. This class gives us the proper Biblical perspective to government, which includes all forms of government and not limited to a nation or state, although it will be particularly applicable to the government God gave America. It is a study of Biblical principles to develop a Biblical perspective on important elements of our society and will challenge us to re-implement some of the values and priorities that have blessed God’s people in the past.
